History of Pearl Bank Apartments
Pearl Bank Apartments was built in 1976 and stands tall on top of Pearl’s Hill with 38 stories, making it the tallest residential building in Singapore at the time.
The horseshoe-shaped cylindrical structure housed apartments, a commercial center, penthouses, and a communal area known as the “Sky Park” on the 28th floor.
Pearl Bank Apartments were the first large-scale private-public and mixed-use buildings designed entirely by Singaporeans. It was also one of Singapore’s iconic post-independence buildings built during the 1970s urban housing renewal period.
